INFORMATION FOR NEW TEACHERS

Threshold Training Associates is a Czech-owned, language training, consultancy and translation company with registered offices in Prague. We offer language instruction primarily in English, but also in German, Spanish, Russian, French and Czech for foreigners. Most courses are conducted on site in local companies and corporations. Threshold is known among teachers for its supportive, family atmosphere and a commitment to ongoing teacher support and training. Our aim is to innovate teachers in the development of their unique talents and skills. Our Teacher Resource Centre is centrally located near the National Museum. The library has an ever expanding number of textbooks, activity books and resource materials. There is also internet and photocopying facilities. The Directors of Study are always on call to answer teachers' questions and keep them informed of all aspects of teaching, and curriculum. We do regular teacher observations with written feedback and meetings while our open door policy allows the teachers to visit as much or as little as they deem necessary. We also offer Czech lessons to our teachers and help our non-EU teachers to get their visas. Finally, all our teachers can expect a warm welcome any time they come to either our office in Barrandov or to our teacher's resource centre in Mezibranská. We're never too busy to chat, answer questions or help solve problems. Our starting salary range is competitive with the current climate and is negotiable depending on the type of contract agreed upon as well as the level of training and experience. A teacher with a TEFL certificate, university degree, and previous teaching experience, for example, will receive a higher starting salary than someone who has just finished training. |
